Do you agree with the following prediction? By 2024, 25% of traditional large enterprise CIOs will be held accountable for digital business operational results, effectively becoming “COO by proxy.”

I am very curious to see how the C-suite evolves with the introduction of many new titles, including Chief Supply Chain Officer. Overall it seems as though the functional silos are being eliminated to look at corporate goals and objectives. This outlook would support that function; however, the skill sets, career path and target operating models need to be built to support the future leadership structures.

It would be interesting if someone were to research and see how accurate Gartner’s predictions are.
