To stay abreast of the threat landscape, I review my security news alerts, the Hacker News, The Register, Bleeping Computer, the Federal Cybersecurity & Infrastructure Security Agency, CSO online and Krebs on Security.

To determine potential enforcement risks I consult the California Privacy Protection Agency, NY State Department of Financial Services and the Federal Trade Commission’s Cases and Proceedings page.

Depending upon the nature of the specific issue further, research in the target area is conducted.
