Reflecting on the conversation, I believe we need to return to a culture of innovation and discovery. Boards have become accustomed to hyper-professional management and expect predictability, but it’s time to embrace risk and rediscover innovative, high-impact applications.

There’s no pressure from our board, just curiosity and interest in value creation. Quarterly updates on AI and cybersecurity have reassured them that we’re taking a measured approach, which has strengthened our relationship.

I receive regular questions from the board about AI and cybersecurity. Many of our tools already include AI, and my relationship with board members is strong, they understand that results take time. The measured approach has not negatively impacted the relationship.
