How can we create pathways for innovation in AI that align with our organization's overall strategic goals?

I believe in taking a holistic, strategically aligned, and cross-functional approach to AI innovation. This approach has the potential to create a competitive advantage.
Furthermore, embracing external collaboration and cultivating innovation through partnerships with other companies, AI research partners, and innovative startups can accelerate innovation through knowledge sharing. This is a crucial part of the holistic approach.
I would categorize this into two buckets. The first involves using AI to enhance the processes within our organization. For instance, our engineers use AI as a coding assistant for product development, while our marketing teams use it for idea generation.
The second bucket involves using AI as a service provider to other companies. This involves upskilling our thought leaders and engineers, as well as creating resources such as awareness-raising materials and leadership pieces. These resources help our clients navigate the AI space and potentially incorporate it into their own products and productivity.
However, it's important to note that AI also challenges some of the work we do. For instance, our design team has to consider how AI impacts the design work we do and how we can integrate it without being overwhelmed by it.
AI use cases present a great opportunity for team brainstorming. This is a nascent and powerful space where no one has all the answers.
Inviting intelligent perspectives and ideas on how to improve the business will enhance both the team and the business, even without the use of AI. In many organizations, good ideas often remain unspoken.
Therefore, the use cases or pathways determined through brainstorming are likely to be much more successful than those you come up with on your own.
