Sticking with tradition, Apple’s first push marketing on this new product is consumer-focused, offering only a nod to business-related activities. While technologists ponder the more profound enterprise and societal potential, this tech giant has demonstrated a winning strategy by reaching and keeping the general public. Considering the successful evolution of other product lines, cheap-shot criticism of Apple’s first-gen device offer little more than noise. We can be confident that the company will refine this space and address adoption barriers as the market demands.

I look forward to the adjacent industry growth driven by this release. While near the start of a new era, this demonstration suggests drastic changes to how we perceive and interact with the world are coming soon. Let’s work to use these innovations for good.

Based on the preview, appears to be an amazing interface.  Price is certainly prohibitive for many but expected at this point in the release.  Given the current physical design, not a device I would use around other people for sure - I've seen some memes displaying this paired with a snorkel tube!

The headset shows a lot of potential on what is possible and where things are going. The price point and current form factor along with power will be a limiting factor for now. But a good start at a futuristic product.

I remember well the iPad announcement some years ago, at that time I along with several CTOs diminished iPad's business potential.

Apple's AR impact is going to be bigger than the iPad, even though is way more expensive.

I love everything about it but the price and the external battery pack with tether cord. I suspect v2.0 will fix both of these things and by v3.0 it will become a must-have accessory for business travelers and beyond. Consider that noise cancelling headsets were once over $1000 and now every other passenger on the plane has them. This will be no different. It is only a matter of time. If it were half the price I’d buy it immediately and I bet a lot of other people would, too. I suspect the high price is as much a gating function as anything else. They will need time to ramp production, work out the v1.0 kinks and figure out how to make 100x as many units for v2.0. It is a long play and they are going to make a fortune on it. So many awesome innovations, all at once. They really are magicians.
