We're currently in the process of the biggest Transformation of the business in our history and I'm leading a workstream to look at end state operating model. I'm looking for some consultancy support, what are your recommendations?

Hi Wayne, possibly late to the game, but depending on your budget and needs, I'd recommend talking to several firms (at least one big 4 and a couple of boutique firms) and be explicitly clear with them about what you need and what metrics they use to track success. In addition to functional / tech support, you may need to supplement your team's organizational change management capabilities. It might be wise to seek leadership development / coaching as well to help your team move through the transformation successfully. Hope it's going well!
We were in a similar spot 3 years ago and established a contract with Deloitte to help guide us through it. They did a fantastic job getting us started and then we took it over after the first year. My guess is that your "form will follow function" and end-state will be a reflection of the revised business model. You'll probably need a strong hand to manage the vagaries of that journey. Deloitte did a great job for us in that regard. Pricey, but great.
Many of the larger strategy firms and Big 4 can help you with Operating Model. To select one, I recommend you think about how radical a change you are looking for and whether your firm can absorb the change. I have seen the large Strat firms design a radically-departed Op Model that the business has no chance of successfully implementing. the truly hard part of this is to implement the model. It requires you to be honest about current state people and systems capabilities and motivate a workforce to learn how to operate in the new context. Sometimes an incremental approach can help. Happy to chat about this if you like...
