My organization is doing an ERP implementation.  We are not mature in the data governance space.  In the past three years we have tried to implement Ataccama and Alation to kick-start a data governance initiative.  For a variety of reasons, both attempts failed.  Does anyone have a recommendation for a data catalog tool other than Excel?  The reason we are considering a data catalog is because in the ERP implementation, some data element nomenclature and taxonomies will be changing.  We think a data catalog might increase the chances that the implementation teams are not talking past one another when they are collaborating.

I am looking for a partner to help my company re-invent and re-imagine our customer engagement strategy.  Does anyone have a recommendation on a vendor or consultancy that is good at facilitating a discovery and strategy plan for something like this?  How do we cross-sell among the company's brands?  Do we de-emphasize the brands to focus on benefits or do we emphasize the brands as a way of making the presentation of value simpler?
