I've always found the "beer conversations" to be a great wat to distill the talks.  There is an energy at conferences that is hard to describe or replicate.

Networking: As you mentioned, networking is crucial to physical conferences. While virtual networking is ok, the chance encounters at physical events often lead to unique connections and collaborations.

Immersive Learning: Removing everyday distractions, live discussions and debates, and the opportunity to participate in workshops or breakout sessions can enhance understanding and knowledge retention.

Support of Friends: We have all probably been in our respective industries for a long time. Thus we would typically have friends in various roles and different companies. In general, I find my friends turn up at speaking engagements for me, and I like to reciprocate.
