Think back to your most positive recruiting, interviewing or onboarding experience. What really "wowed" you about the experience? Have you applied any of that experience to your own processes?

I had a manager send flowers to my family thanking them for supporting me as a working mom. That really meant a lot to me, and my family was impressed that a company would do that. We often forget about the support that all of us get at home, whether it is our spouse, kids, partners or pets! This is kind of leadership that realizes the whole family is employed there. It really helps to create a caring environment and culture.

During one of my recruitment experiences, I attended several, progressive interviews that included different stakeholder groups (direct supervisor and leadership team, colleagues, and clients). I especially appreciated meeting with clients, because it allowed me to see consistency between what leadership thought was needed, the job itself, and what the clients wanted. Meeting with the clients also created an opportunity for early trust and a realistic preview of what I would be doing in the role. There were A LOT of interviews, which were somewhat intense; however, I felt like I really understood what I would be saying 'yes' to, and created a sense of excitement and early trust. I ended up declining the offer, but that experience still stands out to me to this day.

I forgot to add, that yes, I have applied aspects of that experience to my own processes. I include clients in the interview process, and there are meet and greets with my team.
