What tools have employees demanded since the growth in popularity of AI tools? How have you handled the demand?

From my perspective, there is a high demand for tools like Copilot, which is available in Microsoft, or ChatGPT. These tools are being used to transcribe meetings and take notes, which is incredibly useful. When we introduce these tools as a pilot, there is a clamor from employees wanting to use them. There is a certain level of competition and emotion that comes into play in wanting to use a tool that others have found beneficial.
There is a fine line we tread when it comes to demand. For example, when ChatGPT was launched, faculty wanted to be reimbursed for it, but the university didn't allow it due to data classification levels. This created a situation where people wanted it simply because they couldn't have it. The challenge lies in figuring out ways to provide them with the tools they need. However, in my experience, people don't typically demand technology for change. They either try to buy it because it solves a specific need, or they look to us to deliver something that will improve their performance.
In our environment, while we prioritize cybersecurity, we also allow people to explore and use AI. We provide them with some guardrails, but there isn't a specific demand for particular tools. Many of our platforms have intentional AI components, which I believe satisfies the need for AI tools. However, we haven't received any specific requests from any individual user or group.
In my experience, employees are increasingly using different AI tools. This is evident from the fact that they are finding ways to circumvent security measures to use different apps for various purposes. The challenge lies in keeping up with the rapid pace of technological advancements. We are aware that employees are likely using a lot of tools outside of the infrastructure, which is a given in today's digital age. However, we have policies in place to manage this. From an organizational perspective, departments are taking ownership and demanding better platforms that provide more automated features using AI.
