Do you post every promotion even if it is a vertical job move such as Software Engineer I to Software Engineer II? We are shifting our promotion process so that they can be proposed at any time of the year. Previously, promotions were proposed during the annual merit cycle, which had limited oversight of the business case for why someone was being promoted.

Within our organization the intent is to post only those roles that are not logical promotions (career path), i.e., Software Engineer I to II, for example. All other roles are posted.
