Mmmmmm.  A Standard PIP?  Surely it all depends on the issue you're trying to solve and how quickly the employee can demonstrate improvement?

IIt oes depend on the role . More senior complex roles are longer periods  than the less complex.ones

Agreed it depends on the type of role, its complexity, seniority, impact to the business (eg revenue, people, customer etc). There isn’t necessarily a one size fits all approach.
