Reading magazines on my tablet is perfectly fine.   Even more than that, it's very useful while flying for example.

But reading an electronic book? I've done it a few times but it lacks of the ease of a printed one.

Like reading at the beach, folding pages to review them back later or just handing to book to someone else.

I read print and Kindle depending on whether I'm at home or travelling (travel with Kindle).

I still love reading printed books on occasion, but lean heavily toward e-books the majority of the time now for sustainability/convenience/cost reasons.

Kindle when I'm travelling, print edition when I'm at home. I don't buy 2 of each book despite this and will keep either/or depending on where I am when I find the book. :)

In Canada, I use Kobo. Similar to Kindle, but supports Libby so I can get books from my library.
