Currently, the primary use case of Blockchain in the education sector is credential storage and verification. What other use cases are possible in the education ecosystem?

Other use case in education sector for blockchain can be security of ERP database and Student's MIS, Exam data and other critical data security , the certificates and marksheets transcripts and Exam results LMS contents , publishing copyrights security etc.
Most importantly in the age of AI we can use the Blockchain to authenticate classroom attendance in real time by time-stamping people in class, we can also time stamp all of class activity and add that to people's certifications . We can also use it to authenticate in real time natural learning processes by humans. This will help the world to sieve AI processed learning from human processed learning. This would prevent people in schools from using Chat GPT 4 to breeze through hard assignments and projects, turning in neatly-constructed work made by AI while they get dumber by the day. This is necessary in order not to cede our human intelligence totally to the machines.
I agree with both Didier Godot and Mark Thiele . In my travels, I've heard transcript authenticity as the leading candidate for a use case. I'm not sure how much of use are seriously looking at it or have already deployed such solutions.
Great response from Didier Godot
Things I would consider in addition to his comments are;
1. Anti plagiarism
2. Global data sharing
3. Research and development across schools and even countries
4. Partnerships and research with government of NGOs.
As more capabilities are developed to allow independent chain development (I.e., Ava Labs subnets) and cross chain workflows (I.e., Chainlink) the potential opportunities are endless.
Using blockchain technology for intellectual property tracking by academic institutions can revolutionize how intellectual property rights are managed and protected. Blockchain technology can provide a secure and decentralized platform that can be used to record, store and manage IP rights. This technology can help academic institutions to track the usage of their IP, and can make the process of licensing, transferring and monetizing the IP much more efficient.
The use of blockchain technology can provide a transparent and immutable record of all transactions related to IP rights. The blockchain ledger can track the creation, registration, and usage of IP, and record all transactions related to the licensing and transfer of these rights. This can help academic institutions to maintain a complete and accurate record of all their IP rights, and provide them with a clear picture of how and by whom their IP is being used.
Academic institutions can also use blockchain technology to share and license their IP in a secure and transparent manner. The blockchain can be used to create smart contracts that can be programmed to automate the process of IP licensing and transfer. Smart contracts can be used to specify the terms and conditions of the license, including the duration, scope, and royalty payments. These contracts can be executed automatically when the terms and conditions are met, reducing the need for intermediaries and making the process more efficient.
Furthermore, blockchain technology can also be used to protect the moral rights of creators of the IP. The blockchain ledger can record the identity of the creators of the IP, and ensure that they are given the appropriate credit and recognition for their work. This can help to ensure that the creators are properly compensated for their contributions and that they maintain control over how their work is used.
