What have you done to improve your work life balance?

WLB is the most important consideration personally for me. It's about making small adjustments and setting the priorities straight. Managing WLB for myself and my team is my top priority.
For the daily grind, when I feel I need a break I take a break. Could last 5 minutes or 2 hours. Might take a walk to nowhere , text a friend, or look up lyrics to a song I never understood. Simple but reminds me that Im in charge of my life and happiness. When done I get back at it and I no longer crave that break to nowhere.
From the company's perspective we have reduced working hours from 45 hours a week to 35 hours a week with a flexi time program meaning you can fill these hours as you please. 10% can be working from home.
On the personal level I just stopped reading my emails and running processes after working hours and in the weeekends unless it's an emergency. That time is dedicated to my family.
With few exceptions, I maintain "office hours" while working mostly from the home office. I've been working remotely for many, many years now and up until recently, I absolutely did fall into the typical rut of over working, mostly due to my own insecurities regarding contributions, while working from home. I don't know, maybe it's just something that I suffered, but I always felt guilty about putting in a regular day while working from the home office.... I've gotten past that now. It's not to say that I don't spend any time working outside of normal business hours, this can not be avoided in the type of role I have, however that is not the exception rather than the rule.
I've stopped responding to non-urgent emails after work hours. Not only has this improved my own balance, but it sets the right tone for my team and by extension has improved their balance as well.
